HUMAN BODY & LIFE

The meaning of HUMAN BODY towards LIFE
These are some reason i've created regarding the structure of our body. I'm not sure whether is it logically acceptable or not.........
We are born with two eyes in front
and not anywhere at the back of our body because we must not always look behind,
but instead see what lies in front of us or beyond ourselves.
This is a phrase from a song by the " OUTKAST " band, to go along with the meaning above....
" LET THE BYGONES BE BYGONES AND GET THE HELL ON..... "
(please excuse the language used.....)
We are born with two ears, one left and one right,
so we can hear both sides,
collect both compliments and criticisms, to see which are right.
Or even hear with one ear and out the other ear.
We are born with a brain concealed in a skull,
that shows no matter what status you are, whether rich or poor,
we are still rich,
for no one can steal what our brain contains,
that is packed with something more valuable than jewels and money,
provided, one is taking the initiative to fill it up with the right stuff.
Don't you think it's true?????..........
We are born with two eyes, two ears,
but one mouth,
for the mouth is a sharp weapon,
it can HURT, LOVE & KILL.
An old saying to go along,
" TALK LESS; LISTEN AND SEE MORE.......... "

RAISING CHILDREN

I recently read a story written by JACK CANFIELD about a famous research scientist who had made several medical breakthrough achievements. To tell you the truth, i couldn't remember the name of the famous research scientist. So to avoid confusion, i'll name him Sam.

This story was actually a real life experience of Sam and this is why he thought he could be so much more creative than the average person.

This story occured when Sam was about two years old. He had been trying to remove a bottle of milk from the refridgerator when he lost his grip on the slippery bottle and it fell spilling its contents all over the kitchen floor.

When his mother came into the kitchen, instead of yelling at him, giving him a lecture or punishing him, she said, " Sam, what a great and wonderful mess you have made!! I have rarely seen such a huge puddle of milk. Well, the damage has already been done. Would you like to get down and play in the milk for a few minutes before we clean it up? "

Indeed, he did. After a few minutes, his mother said, " You know, Sam, whenever you make a mess like this , eventually you have to clean it up and restore everything to its proper order. So, how would you like to do that? We could use a sponge, a towel or a mop. Which do you prefer? " He chose the sponge and together they cleaned up the spilled milk.

His mother then said, " You know, what we have here is a failed experiment in how to effectively carry a big milk bottle with two tiny hands. Let's go out in the backyard and fill the bottle with water and see if you can discover a way to carry it without dropping it. " The little boy learned that if he grasped the bottle at the top near the lid with both hands, he could carry it without dropping it. What a wonderful lesson!!!!

This renowned scientist learned that mistakes were just opportunities for learning something new, which is, after all, what scientific experiments are all about. Even if the experiment " doesn't work, " we usually learn something valuable from it.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we all including the motherfolks respond the way Sam's mother responded to him?????!!!!!!......... Think about it............

Why Reading Is Such A Big Boredom???????

Any idea why????????..........

This is what i think..........

Reading is actually equivalent to learning.....only if we read the right stuff. We gain knowledge through learning. Furthermore, learning provides the ability to understand something. Reading also opens the door towards wisdom. A famous quote by FRANCIS BARON states that........
" READING MAKES A FULL MAN!!!!!! "
As matter of fact, everyone wants to read, but inreality, nobody does! The question arise is why does no ONE wants to read?????
In my opinion, reading is something very boring to many of us. This is because, they do not enjoy what it contains. My secondary English teacher always force us to read at least a story book every week. Doesn't matter whether is it fiction or not. That's not all, we have to provide the synopsis of the story and the books we read must only be from the school library. She advice us to enjoy reading and understand the pleasures of reading. If you are able to do that, you will have 'video clips' regarding about the story appearing in your mind as you read. Interesting isn't it???????!!!!!!.........
Another reason why many of us are not into reading is that we do not FIND time to read. One of many popular excuses given when one is asked why they are not into reading is " No time-lah, " " Busy doing something else, " and " I'll read later when i'm free. " To me, this is a lame excuse because we can always find time to do the things we want to do, eventhough some of the things we do are not beneficial to us. Very TRUE indeed........
In this, globalisation era, Internet has become a powerful tool connecting us to the world. In other words, connection without boundary. How did we achieve that? Of course, in the fast changing, Internet powered global environment, only education holds the key to enable a country attaining a developed nation status. Now, figure this out, what other way to educate oneself than reading to learn? Nothing right????!!!!!.....
Accept the fact that READING is an important step for learning. Agree?????.......
One might ask, " What is learning then? ". Learning is not something we did during school days and that's all. I'm sure everyone knows that learning doesn't end. It occurs all the time. It is an ongoing process and it will continue till the end.....as long as you are still alive, OF COURSE.......
There's a saying that goes, if a computer is as good as the data fed into it, a man is a good as his reading. Once again, I would like to repeat that READING IS EQUIVALENT TO LEARNING...... only if we read the right stuff (please do take note of that). I came across a statement in a magazine that goes, " A culture of a country revolves around the readability of its people. " I very much agree with that statement. For instance, Japan is a fast moving country with up to date technologies. This is because of the Japanese culture are very much into reading.
This was actually one of the essay questions given by my beloved English teacher during secondary 4. After doing some editing, I decided to post it here..........
By the way, this is my confession:
" I STILL FEEL THAT READING IS SUCH A BIG BOREDOM...... "

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home after having fought in Vietnam. He called his parents from San Francisco.

"Mom and Dad, I'm coming home, but I've a favor to ask. I have a friend I'd like to bring home with me"
"Sure," they replied, "we'd love to meet him." "There's something you should know,” the son continued, "he was hurt pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on a land mind and lost an arm and a leg. He has nowhere else to go, and I want him to come live with us."
"I'm sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find somewhere to live."
“No, Mom and Dad, I want him to live with us." "Son," said the father, "you don't know what you're asking.”
“Someone with such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We have our own lives to live, and we can't let something like this interfere with our lives. I think you should just come home and forget about this guy. He'll find a way to live on his own."

At that point, the son hung up the phone. The parents heard nothing more from him. A few days later, however, they received a call from the San Francisco police.
Their son had died after falling from a building, they were told. The police believed it was suicide.

The grief-stricken parents flew to San Francisco and were taken to the city morgue to identify the body of their son. They recognized him, but to their horror they also discovered something they didn't know, their son had only one arm and one leg.

The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy to love those who are good-looking or fun to have around, but we don't like people who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable.

We would rather stay away from people who aren't as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are.
Thankfully, there's someone who won't treat us that way. Someone who loves us with an unconditional love that welcomes us into the forever family, regardless of how messed up we are.

Tonight, before you tuck yourself in for the night, say a little prayer that God will give you the strength you need to accept people as they are, and to help us all be more understanding of those who are different from us!!!

There's a miracle called FRIENDSHIP that dwells in the heart.

You don't know how it happens or when it gets started but you know the special lift it always brings and you realize that Friendship Is God's most precious gift!

Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us.

PLEASE TREASURE YOUR FRIENDS

A Touching Story

We all know or knew someone like this!!
One day, when I was a freshman in high school,I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school. His name was Kyle.It looked like he was carrying all of his books.I thought to myself, "Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd."I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and trippinghim so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him.He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes.My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him and as he crawledaround looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye.As I handed him his glasses, I said, "Those guys are jerks.”They really should get lives." He looked at me and said, "Hey thanks!"There was a big smile on his face.It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude.I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to private school before now.I would have never hung out with a private school kid before. We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid.I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friendsHe said yes.We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him.Monday morning came! , and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again. I stopped him and said, "Boy, you are going to really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday!" He just laughed and handed me half the books.Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends. When we were seniors, we began to think about college.Kyle decided on Georgetown, and I was going to Duke.I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem. He was going to be a doctor, and I was going for business on a football scholarship.Kyle was valedictorian of our class.I teased him all the time about being a nerd.He had to prepare a speech for graduation.I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speakGraduation day, I saw Kyle.He looked great. He was one of those guys that really found him during high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses. He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him.Boy, sometimes I was jealous.Today was one of those days.I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said, "Hey, big guy, you'll be great!"He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled." Thanks," he said.As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and beganGraduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years.Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach...but mostly your friends...I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone are the best gift you can give them.I am going to tell you a story."I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the story of the first day we met.He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home.He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile."Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable."I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment.I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile. Not until that moment did I realize its depth.Never underestimate the power of y our actions. With one small gesture you can change a person's life. For better or for worse.God puts us all in each other's lives to impact one another in some way.Look for God in others."Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have troubleremembering how to fly."There is no beginning or end... Yesterday is history.Tomorrow is mystery.Today is a gift.

No Nursing Home for Me

A joke cum advice from my beloved DAD!!!!!!!!!!

No Nursing Home for Me

About 2 years ago my wife and I were on a cruise through the western Mediterranean aboard a princess liner.
At dinner we noticed an elderly lady sitting alone by the rail of the grand stairway in the main dining room.
I also noticed that all the staff, ships officers, waiters, busboys, etc., all seemed very familiar with this lady.
I asked our waiter who the lady was, expecting to be told that she owned the line, but he said he only knew that she had been on board for the last four cruises, back to back.
As we left the dining room one evening I caught her eye and stopped to say hello. We chatted and I said, "I understand you've been on this ship for the last four cruises". She replied, "Yes, that's true."

I stated, "I don't understand" and she replied, without a pause, "It's cheaper than a nursing home".So, there will be no nursing homes in my future. When I get old and feeble, I am going to get on a Princess Cruise Ship. The average cost for a nursing home is $200 per day.
I have checked on reservations at Princess and I can get a long term discount and senior discount price of $135 per day. That leaves $65 a day for:

1. Gratuities which will only be $10 per day.
2. I will have as many as 10 meals a day if I can waddle to the restaurant or I can have room service (which means I can have breakfast in bed every day of the week).
3. Princess has as many as three swimming pools, workout room, free washers and dryers, and shows every night.
4. They have free toothpaste and razors, and free soap and shampoo.
5. They will even treat you like a customer, not a patient. An extra $5 worth of tips will have the entire staff scrambling to help you.
6. I will get to meet new people every 7 or 14 days.
7. T.V. broken? Light bulb needs changing? Need to have the mattress replaced? No Problem! They will fix everything and apologize for your inconvenience.
8. Clean sheets and towels every day and you don't even have to ask for them.
9. If you fall in the nursing home and break a hip you are on Medicare; if you fall and break a hip on the Princess ship they will upgrade you to a suite for the rest of your life.

Now hold on for the best! Do you want to see South America, the Panama Canal, Tahiti, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, or name where you want to go? Princess will have a ship ready to go so don't look for me in a nursing home, just call shore to ship.

P.S. If you die they just toss your body over the side of the boat.

Hapiness is Voyage

We convince ourselves that life will be better once we are married, have a baby, then another.
Then we get frustrated because our children are not old enough, and that all will be well when they are older.
Then we are frustrated because they reach adolescence and we must deal with them. Surely we’ll be happier when they grow out of the teen years.
We tell ourselves our life will be better when our spouse gets his/her act together, when we have a nicer car, when we can take a vacation, when we finally retire.
The truth is that there is no better time to be happy than right now.
If not, then when?
Your life will always be full of challenges. It is better to admit as much and to decide to be happy in spite of it all.
For the longest time, it seemed that life was about to start. Real life.
But there was always some obstacle along the way, an ordeal to get through, some work to be finished, some time to be given, a bill to be paid. Then life would start.
I finally came to understand that those obstacles were life.
That point of view helped me see that there isn’t any road to happiness.
Happiness IS the road.
So, enjoy every moment.
Stop waiting for school to end, for a return to school, to lose ten pounds, to gain ten pounds, for work to begin, to get married, for Friday evening, for Sunday morning, waiting for a new car, for your mortgage to be paid off, for spring, for summer, for fall, for winter, for the first or the fifteenth of the month, for your song to be played on the radio, to die, to be reborn… before deciding to be happy.

Happiness is a voyage, not a destination.

There is no better time to be happy than… NOW!
Live and enjoy the moment.

Now, think and try to answer these questions:
1 – Name the 5 richest people in the world.
2 – Name the last 5 Miss Universe winners.
3 – Name the last 10 Nobel Prize winners.
4 – Name the last 10 winners of the Best Actor Oscar

Can’t do it? Rather difficult, isn’t it?
Don’t worry, nobody remembers that.
Applause dies away!
Trophies gather dust!
Winners are soon forgotten.

Now answer these questions:
1 – Name 3 teachers who contributed to your education.
2 – Name 3 friends who helped you in your hour of need.
3 – Think of a few people who made you feel special.
4 – Name 5 people that you like to spend time with.

More manageable? It’s easier, isn’t it?
The people who mean something to your life are not rated “the best”, don’t have the most money, haven’t won the greatest prizes…
They are the ones who care about you, take care of you, those who, no matter what, stay close by.
Think about it for a moment.
Life is very short!
And you, in which list are you? Don’t know?

TRY UNDERSTAND SOMETHING FROM THIS TRUE STORY.................

Some time ago, at the Seattle Olympics, nine athletes, all mentally or physically challenged, were standing on the start line for the 100 m race.
The gun fired and the race began. Not everyone was running, but everyone wanted to participate and win.
They ran in threes, a boy tripped and fell, did a few somersaults and started crying.
The other eight heard him crying.
They slowed down and looked behind them.
They stopped and came back… All of them…
A girl with Down’s Syndrome sat down next to him, hugged him and asked, “Feeling better now?”Then, all nine walked shoulder to shoulder to the finish line.
The whole crowd stood up and applauded. And the applause lasted a very long time…
People who witnessed this still talk about it.
Why?
Because deep down inside us, we all know that the most important thing in life is much more than winning for ourselves.
The most important thing in this life is to help others to win. Even if that means slowing down and changing our own race.

...............ALWAYS REMEMBER......................

"A candle loses nothing if it is use to light another one.”
